Our Program

Program Purpose

To provide innovative programs and services to teen parents and young adults that will empower, inspire, and motivate while aiding in the development of their capabilities and potential as parents. Circle of Care strives to effectively and efficiently assist all program participants in achieving individualized goals, and in doing so, to impact these individuals and the community in a way that reduces the likelihood of abuse and neglect to children, while increasing the likelihood of family preservation.

What We Do

The Circle of Care program services include Home and Center Based Parent Education for adolescents ages 10-23 in Troup County.

Our Services

Family Assessments: evaluating the strengths and needs of the family and aiding in the development of goals

Child Developmental Screenings: identifying developmental concerns during the critical years of the child’s development

Family Life Skills: providing life skills training that includes money management, securing housing, managing a household, cooking, sewing, nutrition, health, and spiritual enrichment to improve daily living

Community Linkage (I&R): ensuring participants are connected to community resources to effectively establish a plan to meet the immediate needs of the family for long-term support and stability

Parent-Child Activity: promoting appropriate parent and child interactions while decreasing potential opportunities for child maltreatment

Nurturing Skills: helping families replace destructive parenting habits with nurturing parenting attitudes and practices and helping teens make good choices on difficult developmental issues they face.

Follow-Up Services: tracking effectiveness of services, as well as sustained services outcomes

Our Goals

  • To improve parent knowledge and use of the parenting skills necessary to anticipate and meet the health and developmental needs of their children
  • To establish a home environment conducive to healthy child development
  • To foster parent-child attachments free of child abuse and neglect

Our History

Circle of Care began as a Troup Family Connection Authority (TFCA) program. In 2013, our program became part of the prevention department of Twin Cedars Youth and Services, Inc.

Accreditation

We are accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA) and all of our staff is certified through the National Parents as Teachers (PAT) Foundational to teach their curriculum.
